I caught the late night repeat of this on Thursday night. Did anyone else see it ? More to the point, did anyone else cheer out loud when the BBC reporter lost his rag with the smarmy Scientology guy ?

LOL, damn right! THe Sci guy wasn’t interested in a conversation, just some harrangueing/bullying. Sweeney played the whole thing down, but he basically did what everyone at home watching would have dne by that point

And yet he got lambasted for losing his rag.

I started typing a follow up comment which contained the words ‘Scientologists’ and ‘creeps’ in the same sentence, and comparing L Ron Hubbard with a rarely-seen part of my anatomy, but I wouldn’t want to cause offence. <!– s:) –><!– s:) –>

Apparently RA Heinlein and John W Campbell bet Hubbard that he couldn’t create a religion, unfortunately they lost —- Or Did They?

‘Free Thinking Religious Person’ sounds to me something like ‘Someone with Military Intelligence’ <!– s;) –><!– s;) –>

Anyway, what do I know – I’m a Zen Buddhist…. mostly, with a sneaking admiration for Hindus and Christian Mystics
