Coleman: Peter is “Going to be Wonderful”

Jenna Coleman has reassured everybody about Peter Capaldi’s casting as the Twelfth Doctor – not that we needed it!

Speaking at the 19th National Television Awards, Coleman had nothing but praise for the new Time Lord, who has just started work on Series 8:

“[Peter is] great of course – we all know he’s going to be wonderful. It’s been great to get up on our feet and get started. We just seem to have taken off like a rocket.”

The new series, which began filming earlier this year, is scheduled to air in late 2014, with Coleman promising “exciting times ahead” for the mad man with a box. We can’t wait!

Of course he is going to be wonderful. He wouldn’t have been cast otherwise. None of the actors before have ever let us down!

Well, she’s hardly going to say “He’s going to be really crap”. is she?!

She’s very bright. If she had reservations she would have given a less “to the point” answer. Something along the lines of “This doctor is going to be going in such different ways than before”. It is refreshing to see a straight answer from a celebrity.

I do agree with Franco, the stakes are too high for anyone to make a silly mistake, and Capaldi is just a fantastic actor.

Capaldi will be great as the new dr, I just have this feeling he will be the talk of the town when the show returns in the autumn.
