Return of the Sisterhood?

The official Doctor Who Twitter feed has released a sneak peak from The Night of the Doctor – and it seems to indicate a return of  The Sisterhood of Karn!!!

Expected on Saturday evening on the BBC Red Button digital channel, The Night of the Doctor is a minisode prologue to The Day of the Doctor the show’s 50th anniversary episode.

Here’s how the photo was shared.

Now, if that isn’t the Sisterhood – last seen in The Brain of Morbius (although some say the old lady seer in The End of Time was one of their number) back in 1976 – then they’re certainly keen on the same fashions…

If you don’t have the Red Button, you can catch the minisode online when it is released.

Lends more evidence to the possibility that this minisode will focus on a point in the Time War and probably feature John Hurt.

This could e interesting, maybe a dying Doctor, or one who has run out of regenerations needs the elixir of life….

Interesting, wonder if their presence there is a reference to the hidden past Doctors in The Brain of Morbius (which they appeared in of course) or it’s a tribute to the Cartmel Masterplan where they featured. Either way, it’s an interesting choice of characters to return.

The doctor may use the elixir to exstend his regeneration’s to a full twelve live’s,many timelords may have done this in the timewar to carry on the fight against the daleks.Or he may be collecting the elixir and return to the high council of timelords.

Wow… bringing back the elixir would be a massive fan move based on some serious classic knowledge. Excellent idea but I’d be surprised if moffat would go that route. I suppose a little exposition going in and all would be fine though.

Just an idea to get around the end of the doctor’s life cycle, the elixir could exsplain why hurt is a doctor to,he could really be the 9th but a future dr could have taken away the title of the dr from him for the bad things he did in the time war which would make only 11 dr’s in total and a cast out one.

They look more like the “Sisterhood” featured in The Fires Of Pompeii with the hoods. Both comparisons, however lack the face makeup worn by both.
