Casting Call for Fan-Produced 50th Anniversary Audio

The official 50th anniversary episode may be safely in the can and secured with a deadlock seal that no sonic screwdriver can break, but it won’t be the only special we can look forward to in November.

Doctor Who – The Exiles is an audio drama, soon to go into production, which will tell the story of the very beginning of the Doctor’s travels when he first steals the TARDIS (although some would say it stole him…) from its repair bay on Gallifrey.

Project supremo David Burgess has released a trailer and is inviting anyone who fancies appearing in the episode to audition. With the Doctor and Susan cast, David still needs to find talented performers to fill the roles of Ian, Barbara and ‘the odd time lord or two’.

Listen to the trailer on YouTube, where you can also contact David about auditioning. Auditions close September 10 2013.

A long-term Doctor Who fan, Christian grew up watching the show and has early memories of the Graham Williams era. His favourite stories are Inferno, The Seeds of Doom and Human Nature (although The Empty Child, Blink and Utopia all come close). When he’s not bossing around the news team, Christian is a freelance writer specialising in mobile technology and domestic computing, and enjoys classic rock, cooking and spending time in the countryside with his wife and young children.
