Some of us have been there from the very beginning; others joined the fold in the 1970’s, 1980’s or 1990’s. Many of you started the journey in 2005 and have been awed as you’ve watched the Ninth, Tenth and Eleventh Doctors save the Universe time after time.
However you started, you’ve got a story to tell and that’s where the fun can really begin!
Whovian.net is celebrating the Doctor’s 50th birthday by examining one of the greatest and most important aspects of the series: the fans. The Doctor & I is a commemorative book that will be made up of your Doctor Who stories; all you have to do is submit your account to be in with a chance of being published.
So here’s the idea:
As Doctor Who turns 50 years old we want to know what being a Whovian means to YOU – whether you’ve been following the Doctor since day one or accidentally stumbled upon his recent adventures at 4 in the morning on Netflix, we want to hear from you, in essay/report/diary/story style.
The Whovian stories we receive will be collated into a special commemorative book which you’ll be able to buy later this year (price TBA). The book will serve as a celebration of the fandom that’s been 50 years in the making with, we hope, stories from fans worldwide – both young and old – as we come together to mark the Doctor’s 50th birthday.
All you have to do is tell your story, were you bored one night and it was the only thing on the television, did a friend show you Rose and got you hooked, did you watch The TV Movie and simply had to find out about the Doctor and the Master’s other battles? Your tale is important an Whovian.net want you to tell it.
Deadline for submissions is 11th August 2013 so you best get to writing your ideas right now, don’t delay if you want to get your tale publicly known.
