Doctor Who star Matt Smith auditioned for Sherlock

Matt Chats “Asylum”

Doctor Who “superfan” and entertainment news journalist Lizo Mzimba got the chance (yet again) to chat with series star Matt Smith this week, at the BFI screening of Asylum of the Daleks.

The chat focuses on the episode, and you can see it below. We’ll let you make your own minds up, of course, but as the first thing Matt says is:

“We’ve made them as scary and malevolent as we think they should be,”

before following with…

“I think on the design front we didn’t get it right,”

when referring to Victory of the Daleks, we reckon that Asylum of the Daleks could prove to be the best opening episode of any series of Doctor Who since 2005.

What do you think?
