There’s a huuuge range of Dalek toys out there, and naturally they’re extremely popular. (Frankly, a room isn’t complete without one in it.) And Forbidden Planet is releasing a set of Daleks that will happily interrupt any polite conversations with a cry of “exterminate!”
The talking Daleks will be available from 22nd August, and individual models have an RRP of £14.99. Or you can pre-order them for £13.49 each, a 10% saving. The six designs are:
- RTD-era Bronze Dalek (2005);
- Dalek Invasion of Earth (1964);
- Power of the Daleks (1966);
- Planet of the Daleks (1973);
- Death to the Daleks (1974);
- Imperial Dalek from Revelation of the Daleks (1985).
Each 5” figure features sound FX and speech from the relevant era, with 3 x 1.5V batteries included.
And of course, if you want them all, you can pre-order the full set for £79.99, an 11% saving off the RRP of £89.94.
The six will be released just in time for ‘every Dalek ever’ to return in Asylum of the Daleks this autumn. Are further sets likely? I’m hoping for a talking Ironside model (“Would you care for some tea?”), a Special Weapons Dalek (capable of blasting away all other models) and the complete talking paradigm (just imagine that Supreme Dalek voice booming over Antiques Roadshow!).
