Later today, dear Kasterborite, we will be presenting you with the first of 80 reviews of classic Doctor Who that will run between now and November 23rd, 2013 in honour of the show’s 50th anniversary.
Having the advantage of already reviewing the series from 2005 onwards, these new reviews will offer a new look at the classic episodes, unspoiled by the reputations that many had earned since the 1980s.
Starting with 100,000 BC later today, Kasterborous editor Christian Cawley will kickstart the series of reviews and will be joined by a huge selection of names that will be both familiar and unfamiliar to regular readers. (We’re running at a rate of two or three per week, so expect to see The Daleks following shortly behind.)
Christian will also be review Survival, as well as a handful of serials in between. By collecting together a range of interesting voices, however, we hope to present a unique look at the history of Doctor Who as a celebration of this wonderful, crazy, mad, mad show.

This should be interesting…and cause a lot of debate!
I am really looking forward to this. I am old enough to have seen most of the stories on transmission. Actually I am older than the programme but can only really remember back to the start of teh Troughton years.
Cannot wait to see the first one..season one has some great stories in it…
I’m sure you will, but just in case… could you please number these reviews so that us novices can make sure we read them in the correct order? Great stuff so far – keep up the good work!
Good idea Derek, I’ll make the necessary changes…
