Not satisfied with giving us endless seasons of Sex and The City and two very, very (only two “very”s? – Ed) long movies of the same name, television executives have decided that what audiences need and want is a prequel TV series to the show called The Carrie Diaries.
This will see a young version of Carrie (the protagonist and narrator of Sex and The City) finding her way in life and getting up to all sorts of…whatever it is she gets up to. Actually come to think about it, it’s not much apart from fretting and drinking. Oh, and writing articles on how bad life can be without friends and a man.
But nevertheless, a pilot for this prequel series has been ordered and a pilot is what we’re all getting. But at least there will be some British talent in it in the form of our very own Freema Agyeman who will be playing the role of Larissa, a party girl who works at Interview Magazine. She will be Carrie’s mentor, teaching her the ropes of her job and, most probably, life.
If the series takes off, it could mean big things for Agyeman in the USA so everyone keep your fingers crossed that the show does well just so that the citizens of the USA can see what a fantastic and versatile actress she is.
