It’s a bumper month for Doctor Who merchandise – with the UNIT Tales box set released next week, late January sees a second classic Doctor Who release, The Sensorites!
Starring William Hartnell as the Doctor accompanied by William Russell as Ian Chesterton, Jacqueline Hill as Barbara Wright and Carole Ann Ford as Susan, the adventure sees the travellers meeting future-cousins-of-the-Ood known as the Sensorites.
The Doctor and his companions land on a spaceship orbiting a distant and mysterious world, where a human crew lie frozen somewhere between life and death. The planet is the Sense-Sphere, home of the Sensorites, beings of immense intelligence and power. Unable to leave, the Doctor and his companions must deduce the Sensorites’ intentions: are they friendly, hostile, or frightened? And what is the deadly secret at the heart of the Sense-Sphere?
Originally broadcast on BBC1 between 20th June – 1st August 1964, the serial was the seventh in the show’s history, coming between The Aztecs and The Reign of Terror.

I’m noticing quite the drop in DVD announcements recently though. Last year, for the first 3 quarters, we had two new adventures a month yet the last quarter, we only had a couple total and not many this year to come this year. (so far) Hopefully, they’ll crank it up. I want/need the Daemons here in the states, Terror of the Zygons, ambassadors of Death, etc!
