Who’s Going Down Under?

TV Tonight – Australia’s ‘leading TV Blog’ – have reported that plans are afoot for multiple episodes to be filmed Down Under in mid 2012.

Following on from its transatlantic first with last years two part opener The Impossible Astronaut/ Day of the Moon the episodes would most likely feature in 2013.

Now the rumours are little more than unconfirmed ‘whispers’ at the moment but who wouldn’t want to see the Doctor heading to a land down under? Maybe in a proto – western set in the outback? The Gold Rush?

There is precedent for the Doctor Who crew boarding an EasyjetABC have in the past co-funded The Five Doctors and before that John Nathan Turner created Aussie companion Tegan (potential reunion, perhaps!) in the vain hope of being able to film in the Southern Hemisphere.

Hopefully it’ll work better than JNT’s trip to Lanzarote…

Everyone has a favourite Doctor and mine - just for his honesty, his fairness and his ability to not notice the Master's awful, awful disguises/anagrams (Sir Gilles Estram!?!) - has to be the Fifth Doctor, Peter Davison. The stories didn’t serve him as well as his acting served those stories.
