Ultimate Christmas Special Roundup

It’s Christmas Eve, and Doctor Who is still a day away. So what can you possibly do to ease the demand for a new episode for just a few more hours?

We’ve featured a lot of content over the past few weeks to promote this year’s Doctor Who Christmas special, so we thought it might be a good idea to pull it all together into one place…

First of all, if you’re looking for interviews with the cast and crew behind The Doctor, The Widow and The Wardrobe, then you can find choice words from Alexander Armstrong, Claire Skinner and Bill Bailey (who all guest in the episode) not to mention The Grand Moff himself who has spoken to BBC Breakfast, revealed how he got into the scriptwriting mood with some fake snow, and teased us over the fact that Doctor Who is now a traditional element of Christmas.

Elsewhere young actor extraordinaire Matt Smith has praised 2011’s Christmas special, explaining in brief the plot. Of course you won’t find any words from Amy Pond and Rory actors Karen Gillan and Arthur Darvill because as “any fule kno” they aren’t in the episode (…).

Over the weeks we’ve featured not one, not two but three galleries of images from The Doctor, The Widow and The Wardrobe, thanks to the BBC. Our first gallery doesn’t give too much away but as things proceed more fascinating snaps can be seen in the second gallery and by the time of the third gallery things are virtually spoilerific!

The Doctor appears all on his own in this rather smashing prequel clip provided by the BBC’s Official Doctor Who website, while the official trailer is haunting and seasonal, all at the same time.

If you want something a little more spoilery we’ve got a collection of hints for you to speculate upon and when you’re done with all of this and Doctor Who still isn’t on – there should still be time to hot-foot it to the newsagents to buy the Christmas Radio Times (which, let’s face it, you should have done already).

It leaves us with one last thing to say: have a very Happy Christmas!
