The Doctor Who Gift Guide

The Doctor Who Gift GuideDecisions, decisions… what Who related gift really sums up your friend of relative? Are they more of a refined Ride in Dalek person?

While we can’t get you out of this consumer conundrum we can at least point you in the direction of The Doctor Who Gift Guide – a Facebook App designed to unite you with the perfect Who gift this Christmas.

All you have to do is simply decide the category of gift that you want – be it collectible, DVD, toys and games, etc – and then either drop a massive hint to your Facebook friends by clicking ‘like’ or you can choose to buy it.

The app will then take you to a third-party website like Forbidden Planet where you’ll be able to purchase the item – although there’s no indication that the site chosen by the App will be the best price you can find – it is a simple way to find and advertise the kind of Who based gift you’ll want/need for Christmas.

The fun doesn’t end there though.

The Doctor Who Facebook page is giving you the chance to win a HDTV, a Blu-ray player, and a limited edition copy of the Season 6 Blu-ray.

All you have to do is ‘like’ the Doctor Who page then enter the competition. Privacy-philes should note that this will mean signing over the right for a third-party App called “Competitions!” powered by Softwind Studio – who have recently extended their social media app partnership with BBC Worldwide –  to have access to your information.

The closing date is 2nd January 2012.

Everyone has a favourite Doctor and mine - just for his honesty, his fairness and his ability to not notice the Master's awful, awful disguises/anagrams (Sir Gilles Estram!?!) - has to be the Fifth Doctor, Peter Davison. The stories didn’t serve him as well as his acting served those stories.
