Doctor Who Top of iPlayer

BBC iPlayer has become a pivotal part of the way that we now view television, lots of households now view shows after they have been transmitted rather than on the day that they’re shown.

The BBC has revealed its latest figures for downloads of television and radio shows from this September just gone and the total comes to a staggering 153 million requests!

The best bit of this is that Doctor Who is the most requested show within the month!

The iPlayer attracted 4.3 million requests each day and Doctor Who dominated the top ten with four separate episodes.

The Girl Who Waited attracted 1.16 million downloads and was at the number one spot, Night Terrors came a close second with 1.12 million, The God Complex and Closing Time came in at fourth and fifth place respectively with 1..01 million and 965,000-that’s a lot of downloads!

This will hopefully show those that are doubting the shows rating that in fact Doctor Who is still one of the most popular and mass marketable TV shows that the BBC have got and it would be ludicrous of them to pull the plug anytime in the future!

Here’s to Doctor Who dominating the charts for years to come!

What happens when an eight year old kid watches the 1993 repeat run of Planet of the Daleks? He pretty much ends up here writing about the show that grabbed hold of him and never let go!

Maybe this will silence those who think the casual viewers are deserting Doctor Who in their droves.

There are some Moffat bashers that will use anything to point the stick of blame at him, and this is one that really bugs me. They seem to actually want Doctor Who to fail.

it only prooves that with stupid arc story people have ABSOLUTLY need to see all episodes to understand that’s why they load and as you can’t look at it with young kids as before… (yes it’s not a family show, now it aims teenagers only) ! and every year with Moffat, at the end, he uses a trick (love, souvenir) to bring back characters he killed because he has no clever solution to write … personnaly i’m tired of moffat era even if RTD was not a very good writer, we had fun, now it’s like the young and the restless : who sleeps with who (yes who’s the father of melody/river? not clearly answered as rory is supposed to have died so many times), who is love with who, and so on, feelings not shown by actors badly directed, and stupid writing tricks (easy and even quite disgustful : Hitler can’t be used as a narrative trick, just a guy to put in a cupboard no, with millions of dead because of that dictator, hitler is not something funny to deal with in an episode !). LONG LIVE TO THE DOCTOR WITHOUT MOFFAT !
