Young Jamie in Doctor Who

This week’s episode of Doctor Who will see the on screen debut of a young actor called Jamie Oram as George, a little boy who has such bad dreams that his cries of help reach the Doctor in the TARDIS.

Whereas most young actors get their first role in a television advert or something even smaller than that, this dream come true means that young Jamie’s first foray into the television world will be seen by millions and millions of people all over the world!

A dream come true for many an actor, this must surely be even more than that for Jamie who told the Essex County Standard newspaper:

“I’m very excited to see the Doctor and me on TV. It was really fun filming it.”

According to those who have been lucky enough to see the episode ahead of its scheduled transmission date, Oram is fantastic in the role and will impress all those who watch.

Here’s wishing the young actor all the best when he sits down to watch the episode this Saturday with his mum and may this be the start of a bright future for him!

Night Terrors is on BBC One this Saturday, 3rd September at 7 pm.

About

What happens when an eight year old kid watches the 1993 repeat run of Planet of the Daleks? He pretty much ends up here writing about the show that grabbed hold of him and never let go!
