Matt Surprises Script to Screen Winners

Pupils were given the surprise of their lives when Matt Smith made an unexpected visit to thank the Script to Screen competition winners at Oakley Junior School, Basingstoke.

The “budding Moffats” were only expecting to see the finished mini-episode Death is the Only Answer, when the Eleventh Doctor and an Ood manservant popped along to personally thank them for their work, reports Walesonline.

As part of the BBC’s Script to Screen competition pupils from around the country were asked to write a 3 minute episode using one of four existing Who monsters (an Ood, Judoon, Weeping Angel or a Cyberman) and a brand new human character to interact with the Eleventh Doctor.

The episode, due to air as part of Doctor Who Confidential on Saturday 1st October, will see the Doctor distracting an old enemy with the ultimate Time Lord weapon (a Yo-yo) before helping a fellow time traveller and familiar historical figure get home.

About

Everyone has a favourite Doctor and mine - just for his honesty, his fairness and his ability to not notice the Master's awful, awful disguises/anagrams (Sir Gilles Estram!?!) - has to be the Fifth Doctor, Peter Davison. The stories didn’t serve him as well as his acting served those stories.
