While the truth about the scheduling of Doctor Who Series 7 might be a question wrapped in an enigma wrapped in a puzzle, we know two things at least: both Matt Smith and Karen Gillan will be back!
The flame-haired actress revealed as much in a brief video interview recorded at the San Diego Comic Con earlier today, which is pretty good news for fans of Amy Pond!
Karen’s confirmation of this means that Amy Pond will be one of the show’s longest-running companions, and assuming she lasts more than one episode of Series 7, the longest of the nuWho era. Since 2005 only Rose Tyler (Billie Piper) has travelled with the Doctor for longer than Amy Pond as of the mid-way point of Series 6…
No word yet on Arthur Darville, however…

All I have to say is………..YESSSS!!!!
In all that excitement, I nearly forgot. What about Rory? Is Arthur coming back too?
@ Bob
I think they’re keeping that under their hat so they don’t give away the second half of the series.
Hmm – listen to what she actually says: “I am going to come back” – that is not the same as ” I’m in the whole series”….
Yeah, I’m sure she’ll make appearances later like Rose did and that’s fine and to be expected. However, I doubt she’ll be remaining in the same capacity for a few reasons. If she chose to stay with the Doctor and face all the same perils *with* an infant, well, it would really strain credibility—no good mother sticks around in that scenario. Melody is her world now. also, you can’t have a companion stick around too long for obvious reasons.
I would love to know if she will be back for a series 8 of doctor who if their iss gonna b eon ebecause he just drops her off in the god complex does that mean the end of amy ponds travelling with doctoer who if so why?
She is a great companian for doctor who she has to stay on !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
