That Russell T Davies is a busy and inventive little bee isn’t he? Over the last six years he’s not only been the major driving force behind resurrecting the greatest television show on the planet (obviously it’s Doctor Who – what did you think we were going to say?), he’s also created two very successful spin-offs from that very show.
But that’s only in Britain. Over in the US of A, he’s managed to remake his British TV series Queer as Folk into a very well received American show and Torchwood is also getting a touch of the American glamour.
And with all the creative talent that he’s poured into his beloved shows, he’s now creating another one, titled Cucumber. All that’s known at the moment is that it’s a “gay themed project”, whatever that may mean. This is something that Russell has mentioned he would be doing over the last few years.
It’s fantastic that the writer is getting the full success that he deserves but let’s hope that this doesn’t cause him to drift too far away from the Doctor Who universe. Let’s hope that he’ll return in a few years’ time to write at least one full Doctor Who episode for the Eleventh Doctor, that would be truly fantastic.

Cucumber = Best Title Ever.
