Torchwood Gets a 5th Run?

And that’s a wrap! Filming of the new series of Torchwood, with the overall story name of Miracle Day, has finally completed which means that there is only the editing stage left before we get to see the finished product.

Filming of this latest epic started way back in January 2011 (which seems like forever ago now) and now we’re almost at the stage where we get to see Captain Jack Harkness and his Torchwood team fight alien threats and defend the Earth in style.

As interesting thing to note is the reference that there will be more Torchwood in 2012:

That’s a WRAP on John, Eve, Mekhi, Alexa, Bill, and Lauren! 2nd Unit night shoots then… until next season. Cross your fingers!

With plenty of support on Starz and here in the UK it looks like Torchwood will be viable for another series!

Miracle Day sees an event like no other unfold across the globe as one day, no one dies. And the same happens the next day and the next and the next…which spells disastrous consequences for team Torchwood and several other characters as well. It’s up to Captain Jack to save the day, but will he be able to?

If the rumours are true, then you can expect Torchwood: Miracle Day to air sometime in July 2011 but as ever, dates are subject to change at the last minute.

Those of you that are hungry for more Torchwood needn’t worry, after the filming of this ten part epic the cast will be heading into the recording studio to create a new Torchwood audio serial (which seems to tie in with news of Ianto Jones actor Gareth David-Lloyd travelling to the USA) more details of which will be released towards the end of May.

Not long to go now, hold onto your Weevils!

What happens when an eight year old kid watches the 1993 repeat run of Planet of the Daleks? He pretty much ends up here writing about the show that grabbed hold of him and never let go!

A fifth season wouldn’t surprise me. The world at large didn’t even know there *was* a Torchwood until Children of Earth. Starz needs a hit show and this would really be regarded as a first season. If the ratings do well, I could easily see 3 or four more seasons coming.
