New Torchwood Teaser!

There isn’t an awful lot to say about this: it’s a new teaser trailer for Torchwood Series 4, with a few scenes from the Miracle Day storyline linked together by that deep-voiced guy who provides voice-overs for all sorts of movies and TV shows.

Starring John Barrowman, Mekhi Phiffer, Eve Myles and Bill Pullman, this is a very action packed teaser!

Torchwood has certainly come a long way since the days of it being the answer to a question in a futuristic version of The Weakest Link.

We’re sure everyone involved with it (from Starz and BBC Worldwide to the runner on the shoots in Wales) is very proud indeed, and we can’t wait to see it!

I can’t wait to see this ‘reboot’ of Torchwood, although I do admit to still being slightly worried that the whole ‘americanisation’ thing.

Hopefully with RTD still having a hand on the tiller it should maintain it’s original feel, although just how firm his grip remains on the tiller remains to be seen.

Time will tell of course and I don’t honestly understand my trepidation just because Starz have got involved. I just can’t shake this deep worry that the whole shebang will change beyond all recognition.
So, yeah, it’s exciting to contemplate watching the latest installment of this ever-evolving show but I just pray it doesn’t end up as a clone of the X-Files or Fringe.

American SciFi can be fabulous and regularly out-performs our own output but Dr Who & Torchwood are British SciFi at it’s very best. I would hate for one of them (or god forbid, both) to become just another in a long line of very average American pulp SciFi.

For now I have faith in RTD and his decision to embrace this new venture but deep down, hidden, niggling away is this fear that it could end up with Torchwood fading away into the backwaters.
