So with Doctor Who kicking off on April 23rd over in the USA on BBC America, you’re probably wondering just what their version of the the Series 6 trailer looks like?
Naturally it seems to heavily feature the opening two-parter, The Impossible Astronaut/Day of the Moon, which makes sense given that much of it was recorded in the USA. So look out for US TV stalwart Mark Sheppard, a British actor who is well known from shows such as Supernatural, Chuck, Dollhouse and many more.
Conversely the UK trailer seems to feature a more even mix of stories from the first half of the 2011 run.
It’s quite a collection of images, isn’t it? So to help you out with what you just saw, we’ve broken it down into frames, below…
We’ve got two things to say:
1. Wow
2. What the heck is that thing at the end?!

I like that this trailer has stuff the BBC Trailer doesn’t, but overall I prefer the UK trailer for its epic music and composition (without voice-over). And yet a friend of mine, a more recent Who convert, likes this one better. She puts it down to how different our relationships with the show are: we’re both American, but she’s a new fan whereas I was lucky enough to grow up watching the classic series on PBS.
