Tennant’s on the Panel

As part of comic relief this year, David Walliams will be hosting an event called 24 Hour Panel People, in which various celebrities will take on roles of hosts, panellists and team captains whilst taking part in a nod to various classic game shows.

The celebrities in question are also notable for their appearances in Doctor Who including Stephen Fry (Death Comes to Time), Barbara Windsor (Army of Ghosts), Paul O’Grady (The Stolen Earth), Russell Tovey (Voyage of the Damned, The End of Time) and David Tennant (do we really need to list his episodes?). Walliams has recently been confirmed to guest star in an episode of Doctor Who’s 2011 series.

The show will air on March 5th and will stream online. It will then be re-run as five thirty minute highlighted programmes on BBC Three on the run up to Red Nose Day.

Other celebs of note that will be taking part in the fun include David Mitchell (Peep Show), Vernon Kay, Sir David Frost, Christopher Biggins, Jack Dee and Dara O’ Brian.

Some of the shows that will be “sent up” include Through the Keyhole, Mock the Week, Room 101 and QI whilst other classics will be making an appearance including The Generation Game and Blankety Blank.

24 Hour Panel People will be screened on 5th March from midday. Also watch out on Red Nose Day for a specially written mini episode of Doctor Who featuring not one but two Amy Ponds.

About

What happens when an eight year old kid watches the 1993 repeat run of Planet of the Daleks? He pretty much ends up here writing about the show that grabbed hold of him and never let go!
