Following the last few weeks of disappointing broadcast figures for the weekly multi-episode broadcasts of Doctor Who on France 4 over the channel, a slight increase in the audience has been recorded.
Last night, “Vincent et le Docteur” and “Le colocataire” (Vincent and the Doctor and The Lodger to non-Francophiles) were viewed by 303,000 people; that’s around 1.4% of the total audience. The two episodes were ably assisted by a repeat of The Eleventh Hour later on in the evening, and this slightly stronger showing sees Doctor Who gaining around 8000 viewers on the previous week (comparison of figures with previous weeks).
Sadly that isn’t a great figure (8000) but a general overview of French TV audiences on Saturday reveals that no channel gets beyond 5 million and Doctor Who is France 4′s biggest draw.
(Many thanks as ever to French Doctor Who superfan Aurélie!)
