New BBC Doctor Who Screensavers

The BBC’s official Doctor Who site has released a set of wallpapers from the “Scream Savers” screensaver app for Windows and Mac OS X, featuring stunning images inspired by Hammer Horror movie posters and Season 31 of Doctor Who.

With a choice of Victory of the Daleks, The Hungry Earth, The Lodger and the online Christmas adventure Snowfall, these are great images that can be downloaded at a nice high quality 1,920px × 1,080px.

This is, of course, just the tip of the iceberg for Doctor Who screensavers and desktop backgrounds available on the wibbly wobbly web. There are countless images these days provided at a variety of suitable resolutions, from the images made available on the BBC website to the efforts of Doctor Who’s amazing fans that are scattered across the internet.

Here are some of our favourites:

The web has a fine collection of images that truly makes me yearn for the early days of Kasterborous, and the  marvellous Anthony Dry desktop backgrounds…

Meanwhile, Doctor Who fans using Firefox should remember that their browsers can be decorated with Whovian images!
