Thanks to Big Finish we have an exclusive first glimpse of the cover for The Four Doctors, the special free gift for subscribers to the popular Doctor Who audio range!
Starring Peter Davison, Colin Baker, Sylvester McCoy and Paul McGann, the adventure apparently pits four incarnations of our favourite Time Lord against the Daleks, voiced by Nick Briggs who performs the same task on TV.
The Four Doctors is by Peter Anghelides whose previous Big Finish credits include a few Short Trips and Bernice Summerfield stories and he has also writeen several BBC Books including 2000′s The Ancestor Cell, with Stephen Cole.
Anghelides wrote on his blog earlier this year:
It was great fun to script this special set of episodes, which also (hurrah!) gave me a chance to do something exciting with the Daleks, too. The episodes are available exclusively to people who take out a subscription to Big Finish’s splendid monthly series of audio adventures.
I suppose I have now created adventures for eight of the eleven Doctors to date, if you count short story collections (second and third Doctors) and audio (tenth Doctor). If you’re counting on your fingers, you’ll realise that tots up to seven…
Lucky Big Finish subscribers will be finding out all about The Four Doctors in the coming months. Sadly the rest of us won’t be so lucky, as this adventure won’t be available to buy.
We suggest subscribing to avoid missing out on similar gifts in future…

I *think* that the last big special was “An Earthly child” which also wasn’t available to all when it came out but will be available soon, I think I heard it was a years delay on that, which is fine as it at least eventually opens up to everyone. I hope they do that for this adventure as well because it’s a bit too expensive to pay for a ton of the audio adventures. I like to go in once and a while and pick out ones I like. But, if they never release the 4 docs, ah well…..
