A Christmas Carol Details

While we’re still a few weeks away from getting confirmation of the episode’s scheduling, the BBC have released some plot details for A Christmas Carol, this year’s Doctor Who seasonal special!

Starring Matt Smith as the Doctor, Karen Gillan as Amy, Arthur Darvill as Rory and guest starring Sir Michael Gambon as Kazran Sardick, it seems the adventure features more than just the tale of redemption that the title suggests…

Amy and Rory are trapped on a crashing space liner, and the only way The Doctor can rescue them is to save the soul of a lonely old miser, in a festive edition of the time-travelling adventure, written by Steven Moffat. But is Kazran Sardick, the richest man in Sardicktown, beyond redemption? And what is lurking in the fogs of Christmas Eve?

Also appearing in the Christmas special is the otherwise unknown Danny Horn as the young Kazran, and of course the marvellous Katherine Jenkins!

In case you haven’t seen the trailer yet – well, it’s here!

Whatever time Doctor Who is aired, it will be on BBC One and simulcast in high definition on the BBC One HD channel via Freesat channel 108, Freeview channel 50, Sky channel 143 and Virgin Media channel 108.
