Matt Smith Nominated

Several Whoniverse mentions have landed in the award nominations front, and YOU can help them win!  TVChoice Magazine is calling for votes from its readers for its annual television awards, to be presented 6 September.

Doctor Who star Matt Smith nominated for a TV Choice awardFinally beginning to receive the recognition he deserves is Matt Smith, who is up for Best Actor, while Karen Gillan has been shortlisted for Best Actress.  Torchwood‘s John Barrowman has also been nominated for the acting prize, rendering yet another Doctor vs. Captain showdown in the awards industry necessary.

The programmes themselves are also feeling the love.  Doctor Who is a contender for Best Family Drama, as well as Merlin, whose relevance to Who amounts to the lead actor, Colin Morgan, having Davies-era experience as Jethro Cane in Midnight.  Plus, in what must be the result of its powerful, high-quality entertainment, Torchwood: Children of Earth is still in the running for award recognition (in this case, Best Drama Series) after all this time!

If you want your say in adding to BBC Wales’ trophy case of Whovian goodness, click here to vote!  You have until 9 July (that’s a week from today) to do so. (Note that you will be asked for personal details at the end of the survey; however tis can be skipped.)

About

Patrick has just been murdered and is currently seated on the edge of a lawn chair wondering when this Missy person will stop demanding his autograph. He probably can't tweet from the grave, but you should follow him anyway @10PatrickRiley.
