Captain Jack On Stage

John “Torchwood” Barrowman has landed a new gig; he’ll be headlining the Salford Proms in the Park concert on September 11th 2010.

Doctor Who and Torchwood star John BarrowmanBarrowman will be joined by the BBC Philharmonic orchestra, who are just brilliant, and will make up part of the BBC Last Night at the Proms event.

Town hall bosses are hoping his style of glitzy showbiz will pull in the crowds after last year’s concert, starring Chris De Burgh, cost the council £194,300.

John commented:

“It looks set to be a fantastic evening and I’m thrilled to have been invited to perform.”

If you’re a fan of John or if you’d just like to see Captain Jack Harkness singing his heart out, then this is the event for you!

Tickets are now on sale. Full price is £20, Salford residents can take advantage of an offer until July 31, when tickets cost £13.50 each, (maximum six per household). Half these discounted tickets have sold out already, so act now!.

Book online at www.visitsalford.info/proms or by phone on 0844 815 7131.

What happens when an eight year old kid watches the 1993 repeat run of Planet of the Daleks? He pretty much ends up here writing about the show that grabbed hold of him and never let go!
