Could David Tennant be landing a dream Hollywood role playing Bruce Banner aka The Incredible Hulk? According to cinemablend.com, maybe.
As you may or may not know, a movie called The Avengers is scheduled for cinema release in 2012. Directed (hopefully) by Buffy the Vampire Slayer and Angel creator Joss Whedon and starring Robert Downey Junior as Iron Man, Samuel L Jackson as Nick Fury and a host of other actors playing Thor and Captain America. The premise is of a super hero group that protects the world via government funding. If you haven’t read the comics (later re titled The Ultimates) then go and check them out as they’re fantastic.
Part of this super group’s massive problem usually ends up being The Hulk who was last played by Ed Norton in 2008’s The Incredible Hulk. Since Marvel Studios have now dropped Norton from the role, they’re looking to replace him and David Tennant has been mentioned as a possible successor.
As always, this is all rumour and conjecture at the moment but Tennant would fit the look of the character brilliantly and also bring a heart to the role that has been slightly lacking from the previous Hulk films.
