Doctor Who on Tour!

“This is everything I ever wanted since I was 11. A live show, with all the coolest Doctor Who monsters, a proper story, and brand new screen material.”

Doctor Who on tourThe very words of Executive Producer Steven Moffat – and confirmation to the rumours that Doctor Who is indeed going on tour! Destined for 9 city arenas around the UK, the names of the venues are as yet unannounced – except for Glasgow SECC, reports The Scotsman.

Moffat’s description certain paints a picture of “Doctor Who live!” about the event, although it should be noted that although there will be a host of special effects and monsters, the Doctor (Matt Smith) will appear only in video scenes rather than live performances, no doubt due to filming commitments.

Series theme tune arranger and incidental music music composer Murray Gold meanwhile is also excited.

“The live element always adds something extra, but these will also be brand new arrangements for a new band of very talented musicians. It’s very exciting.”

We’ll let you know as new dates are announced.
