Doctor Who Game Update

Doctor Who game - City of the DaleksThe official Doctor Who website has released their latest update on the upcoming City of the Daleks adventure game. Moving into the final stages of completion, the games developers are smoothing over any glitches that they have found in order to make the game the best possible experience for the broadest audience. Charles Cecil, the games Executive Producer, seems very excited about the forthcoming release

“Right now, we’re applying the finishing touches to the first game. We were delighted by the hugely positive response that City of the Daleks received from people who played it when we held the event in Sheffield, but we’re aware that certain elements need perfecting and last minute glitches resolving. Over the next few weeks I’ll be updating you on our progress and counting down to 5 June when The Adventure Games are launched and you can become the Doctor!”

The footage looks absolutely brilliant; the team have got the physical movements and mannerisms of Matt Smith and Karen Gillan spot on. Add hundreds of Daleks into the mix and this could be the greatest Doctor Who game ever made (the other of note being Destiny of the Doctors).

Meanwhile, go to the official website for the full interview and a spoiler free making of clip. The game itself will be available from the BBC website (for free) from June 5th.

WHAT? I think I just spat my breakfast over my monitor! I love Doctor Who and I love computer games but the last time there was a Doctor Who game that anybody liked it was Dalek Attack in the 80s. Destiny of the Doctors is one of the worst games ever made. It looks awful, makes no sense and is completely unplayable.

That must be why Destiny is the one that’s of note; It must have been SO awful that everyone forgot all about Dalek Attack because they were too busy complaining about how terrible Destiny was. I like my logic ;)

I wish they’d reveal whether or not the game will be available for download in the US. Has anyone heard anything about that?
