City of Spires from Big Finish

New from Big Finish this month comes City of Spires, which sees the revolutionary combination of Sixth Doctor Colin Baker with Jamie McCrimmoon, played by Frazer Hines.

Doctor Who City of SpiresWhile both starred on screen together in The Two Doctors (1985) Hines is of course better known for playing the popular companion to the Second Doctor, Jamie.

Hardcore Doctor Who fans will know that Jamie’s mind was forcibly wiped by the Time Lords at the end of The War Games – so this should be a very interesting adventure!

Arriving in a hail of musket fire, the Doctor unexpectedly finds himself in the highlands of Scotland, where the ruthless Black Donald and his band of rebels are fighting the Redcoats. But the highland warriors no longer fight for the Jacobite cause and the English officers answer only to the mysterious Overlord. What has happened to Scotland and why are its moors littered with advanced, oil-pumping technology?

Reunited with his faithful companion Jamie McCrimmon, the Doctor must venture into the sinister City of Spires to find the answers. But standing in his way is the deadly Red Cap…

Written by Simon Bovey, City of Spires also features Georgia Moffett as Alice, Richard Earl as Victor, James Albrecht as Major Heyward, Russell Floyd as Sergeant Rilke, Sam Graham as Guthrie, Charlie Ross as Rob and John Banks as Red Cap.

City of Spires official release date is April 30th – find out more at Big Finish – meanwhile you can also read our review.
