SFX on The Eleventh Hour

Behind the rest of the press pack, SFX gave The Eleventh Hour an online thumbs up this week, giving the new Doctor Who time to breathe before delivering their verdict.

The Doctor and RoryThe popular sci fi magazine – whose website has recently experienced its own long-overdue regeneration – give little away about the plot, but do make the following observations:

*Eleventh Doctor Matt Smith is “impish, occasionally school mastery, often slightly unhinged”

*The Eleventh Hour itself is “a perfect blend of pure, unashamed adventure and the genius ideas that characterised Moffat’s previous Who scripts…”

*The night-time shooting has a wonderful fairytale quality to it

*Oh and what’s more, The Eleventh Hour is the “best season opener since Who’s 2005 return”
