Doctor Who – In the TARDIS!

New TARDIS interior

As you can see from the accompanying image, the interior design of the new TARDIS has been revealed – and with its pale colours and smooth lines seems to recall the design seen in the very first episode of Doctor Who in 1963…

Available from the Radio Times website, the additional photos show Matt Smith and Karen Gillan – the new stars of Doctor Who – posing within the new TARDIS interior, with different angles revealing what seems to be a huge disc suspended over the console. Yet another reference to the original design seen in An Unearthly Child, the disc is in fact a series of concentric rings which seem to house cables and lighting.

It look s pretty amazing – dare I say it, it’s better than the previous TARDIS and certainly more in keeping with the various looks of the time ship interior from the original series.
