Companion Rumours

Amy PondUK tabloid the Daily Star has reported on an interesting new development for Doctor Who in 2010 – could there be something interesting on the companions horizon in series 31?

Obviously this shouldn’t be taken as gospel, as we’ve already seen the Amy Pond (Karen Gillan) will introduce the Doctor to her boyfriend Rory at some point. According to the Daily Star however,

An additional companion will join the Doctor to travel in the TARDIS.

Of course, they’re not giving away any names, so it could easily refer to Rory (Arthur Darvill) who we meet in The Eleventh Hour, or ir could refer to someone completely different…

Sadly there is no reference to this in the current Doctor Who Magazine (out now!) where Steven Moffat instead confirms various key guest casting.
