New 11th Doctor Image

As seen on the BBC’s Official Doctor Who website to herald the birth – and trailer – of the Eleventh Doctor, the BBC have released a new image featuring Matt Smith wielding what appears to be a new sonic screwdriver.

A small version of the image is seen accompanying this article – meanwhile portrait and landscape versions can be acquired via Den of Geek.

It’s certainly a pose that lends a sense of drama and the spirit of adventure to the already slightly stuffy look of a “professor with a swagger” as seen in some of the clips that comprise the 2010 series trailer – here at Kasterborous we are seething with anticipation over the new look of Doctor Who!

Most crucially, we’re wondering just how different – and similar – Steven Moffat and Matt Smith’s interpretation of the long running adventure series is going to be…
