Casting Update

Actress Helen McCrory – better known as Narcissa Malfory, mother of Draco in the Harry Potter movies, is confirmed on her website as appearing in the season 31 Doctor Who adventure Vampires in Venice.

Helen McCroryWritten by Toby Whithouse (School Reunion), Vampires in Venice is evidently a vampire tale taking place in Venice – the town of Trogir in Croatia doubled for Venice when the location work took place there in November/December last year.

Along with appearances in Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince and the upcoming Death Hallows parts one and two, McCrory has also starred as Cherie Blair in The Queen (2006) as well as appearing in the 2007 TV Movie Frankestein, the Heath Ledger-starring Casanova movie from 2005 and also provides the voice of Mrs Bean in the animated feature The Fantastic Mr Fox later this year.

Other casting for the adventure is yet to be announced, with only Matt Smith and Karen Gillan mentioned on McCrory’s webpage listing for the job. McCrory’s character is not listed.
