Riddle Me This

Bad news for David Tennant and Batman fans – despite the hopes of many, the Doctor Who star isn’t about to be named as the new Riddler.

Tennant reckons he would be great as the green clad loon Edward Nigma, claiming it would be a “boyhood dream come true” – but is yet to hear from the producers of the next Batman movie, which will be the third in a series that kicked off with Batman Begins and followed up with The Dark Knight.

“I probably should be [playing The Riddler],” The Guardian quotes him as saying. “But you’d think my agent would have mentioned something if it was true.”

It is of course just the latest in a string of roles linked to the Tenth Doctor since he finished shooting Doctor Who back in the summer.

Previously Tennant had been linked to the role of Bilbo Baggins in The Hobbit, the upcoming prequel to the Lord of the Rings trilogy, although this part apparently also remains unfilled.
