Master of Time

The Master is back in Doctor Who this Christmas – and while it’s far too early to say exactly how he fits in to the end of the Tenth Doctor, John Simm revealed that the bonkers Time Lord hasn’t got time for politics this time around.

The Master - John SimmFormer Life on Mars star Simm took time out to appear on the Steve Wright show on Monday this week (listen on iPlayer 2hrs 27) and revealed to the popular BBC Radio 2 show that the Doctor’s arch enemy is back and badder than ever.

“He’s even scarier this time,” he revealed. “He’s much, much scarier. He’s not pretending to be Prime Minister this time, so he’s unleashed!”

So no politics this time – but Steve Wright did observe that there was “a bit of Blair” about Harold Saxon, an observation that Simm readily agreed with…
