Peladon Tales DVD Boxset

As revealed in Doctor Who Magazine 414, the Third Doctor’s two trips to Peladon are to be released on DVD early in 2010.

The Curse of Peladon is joined by the Monster of Peladon on the Peladon Tales boxset

Peladon Tales is the name of the collection which sees the first DVD release of 1972′s The Curse of Peladon and 1974′s The Monster of Peladon which star Jon Pertwee as the Doctor, Katy Manning as Jo Grant (Curse) and Elisabeth Sladen as Sarah Jane (Monster).

The Curse of Peladon also co-stars David Troughton (son of Second Doctor Patrick and a geust star in 2008′s Midnight) as King Pel, with both stories featuring a narrative commentary of the continental political situation of the time – the UK’s joining of the European Economic Community, the precursor to the modern day European Union.

Featuring ancient curses, mythological beasts and the Earth Federation plundering the valuable resources of Peladon, both stories also feature the unusual alien character of Alpha Centauri and of course the ever-fearsome Ice Warriors!
