Sally Gecko?

Carey Mulligan - appearing in Wall Street 2?According to a report in the superb sci fi magazine Death Ray, Blink star (and fantasy Doctor Who companion) Carey Mulligan is set to play Gordon Gekko’s daughter in a sequel to Michael Douglas’ hit 1987 movie Wall Street.

Set in 2008, Money Never Sleeps sees Michael Douglas’ ruthless Gordon Gekko return after his 20 year jail sentence and attempting to avert some of the financial meltdown that he has seen coming.

Co-starring with Michael Douglas are Josh Brolin and Transformers star Shia LeBeouf.

Although there’s no definite confirmation at the moment, Mulligan is rumoured to be signed up to play Winnie Gekko, the estranged daughter of the disgraced legendary Wall Street player.

A feature on the lovely Ms Mulligan appears on news.com.au, concentrating on her up and coming role in British movie An Education (in which she stars alongside Emma Thompson, Rosamund Pike and Alfred Molina) but with a brief mention of the Wall Street sequel –

“It would be amazing but so far it’s just internet speculation.”

As Steven Moffat said back in 2007, she’s certainly “one to watch”.
