June Whitfield Confirmed

Weeks after being spotted on location, actress June Whitfield has been confirmed as a guest star in the final two David Tennant-starring Doctor Who installments.

June Whitfield guest starring in Doctor Who in December 2009The latest issue of Doctor Who Magazine (#408) quotes producer Tracie Simpson:

“This is another classic piece of casting from Andy Pyor and his team,” said producer Tracie Simpson. “June is practically television royalty!”

She continued: “The entire crew’s been having so much fun filming with her, and her presence gives the whole story that extra sparkle, just in time for Christmas.”

June will be playing the marvellously named Minnie Hooper.

Keep an eye out on more casting updates over the weekend as more names are added to the roster – although don’t expect confirmation or denial on Claire Bloom
