Doctor Who News no image

So – it wasn’t Paterson Joseph!

Oh, you noticed. Well, you know, sources, bookies, press leaks – they all get mixed up into a heady blend of "Eureka!" and sometimes, just sometimes you should go with your gut feeling.

It’s a risk, but as the editor it falls to me when something goes wrong, when the site fails – or if we publish something that is incorrect.

Regular readers will recall that on November 22nd, Paterson Joseph was named by Kasterborous as the 11th Doctor. There were various reasons for this, including:

  • Information from confidential third parties
  • Betting patterns (with some bookies closing the bet)
  • Information from an employee of Her Majesty’s press

We could have held back, I opted not to, and acted. I wasn’t surprised to see the same name touted in other locations shortly after – Paterson Joseph seemed a good name, and why wouldn’t he be cast?

So there isn’t really anything left to say at this point except to apologise, sincerely to every Doctor Who fan and user of Kasterborous. Sorry. Lessons have been learned.

This news item will remain published for posterity and a reminder that it’s easy to get carried away without holding your horses. The original article however will be removed from Kasterborous.
