Planet of the Dead: Bus-ted?

Reports indicate that the red London bus shipped overseas for lcoation shooting of Planet of the Dead has been damaged during transport, and is unable to be used, necessitating considerable rewrites of the Russell T Davies and Gareth Roberts script.

The bus would be a location double for the one used in the past few days for shooting in Cardiff, and where the photo of David Tennant and Michelle Ryan here was taken.

Shipping the bus abroad would no doubt have given the Doctor Who production team a myriad of headaches, so this latest one hopefully won’t have dampened any spirits – after all, productio of The Fires of Pompeii was delayed with production personnel held up at the Italian border control (EU freedom of movement? Get outta here!) and a fire on the studio set that was built for the shooting of the BBC/HBO production Rome.

Shooting as far away as Dubai with a great big (presumably Routemaster) double decker bus more used  to driving around damp and cold and windy London to the desert could be said in hindsight to have been slightly ambitious, however.
