Martha’s Law

Doctor Who costar and superbly lovely lady Freema Agyeman has been cast as one of the lead characters in a UK version of the US hit drama Law & Order.

Agyeman – whose credits prior to Doctor Who (when she made her first appearance ion Army of Ghosts) included soap operas – will be starring alongside former footballer and Coronation Street star Bradley Walsh in the ITV show, produced by Kudos (Life on Mars, Ashes to Ashes, Spooks, Hustle). According to ITV, they have

"Put together the perfect cast to deliver a modern British take…"

Freema will be playing "hardworking, strong-willed" prosecutor Alesha Phillips in the 13-part series when filming begins later this month.

You can see the gorgeous lady herself much sooner, however, as Agyeman is among the supporting cast for the BBC’s new incarnation of the post-apocalyptic drama series Survivors, which airs this autumn on BBC One.

A long-term Doctor Who fan, Christian grew up watching the show and has early memories of the Graham Williams era. His favourite stories are Inferno, The Seeds of Doom and Human Nature (although The Empty Child, Blink and Utopia all come close). When he’s not bossing around the news team, Christian is a freelance writer specialising in mobile technology and domestic computing, and enjoys classic rock, cooking and spending time in the countryside with his wife and young children.
