Purves Autobiography

Former Doctor Who actor and Blue Peter presenter Peter Purves has revealed that he is writing an autobiography, it has been reported.

The news comes following a revelation from Valerie Singleton that she and Purves – who hosted Blue Peter together with John Noakes in the late 1960s through to the late 1970s – had a brief fling.

Purves told the Daily Express there would not be anything scurrilous in his memoir.

"How much can you say about a one-night stand 40 years ago?" he said.

"These things happen – I have fond memories but that’s as far as I’ll go. I’m not going into details as to what we did."

Peter Purves appeared in 44 episodes of Doctor Who in 1965-1966 as Steven Taylor, space pilot companion to the First Doctor WIlliam Hartnell
