Look’s as though speculation of the Hamlet-rehearsing David Tennant’s future Doctor Who future is far from settled, as suspected by Kasterborous for a very long time now.
With reports in tabloid comic The Sun yesterday claiming that its all a long way from sorted (er… hello?) the Wibbly Wobbly Web has regurgitated a $3m / £1.5m pay deal for David Tennant to remain with the series for season 31 (2010) and beyond.
‘We’re gearing up to offer him a massive deal,’ a source tells The Sun. ‘He’s interested. Everyone thought he was going, but it’s not as open and shut as that.’
‘It will be a new team and David has to meet everyone. But we’re gearing up to offer him a massive deal.
‘He’s interested. Everyone thought he was going, but it’s not as open and shut as that.’
Interestingly, it is claimed that shooting for the 2010 run of Doctor Who "commences in the fall and as soon as his deal is sealed" – however this is unlikely, and probably refers to pre-production projects such as assembling a new production team or to the production of the final pair of specials for 2009.
