It seems that Tenth Doctor David Tennant can’t do DIY.
Which given he lives in a nice flat in Wales and another in London while acting on various jobs is hardly a surprise. He doesn’t get weekends like the rest of us.
No, if the Sonic Screwdriver wielding David Tennant needs a shelf putting up, he calls in a man of the cloth – his 70-year-old dad, Sandy McDonald.
Chatting about his home life in Dads: A Celebration Of Fatherhood From Britain’s Finest And Funniest, published on May 29, he claims:
"When you’re a child you assume your dad knows everything. Now I have to admit that mine probably does. Problem with the car? Confusion over the house insurance? Need to put a shelf up? I’ll call my dad.
"It worries me. I’ll be 40 in a few years. Shouldn’t I already know how to tile a bathroom wall?"
He added: "In years to come, when my kids phone me to ask how to reignite their boiler, I’ll have to put them on to Granddad."
Get it sorted! Buy a book!
Besides he wants to try holding down a day job plus running websites about himself. Then he would really have no time to knock up an MFI flat pack.
Stop whining mate.
