Will the Doctor (David Tennant) have to make the ultimate sacrifice? The Poison Sky is episode 5 in season 30, and sees the conclusion of the events set in motion in The Sontaran Stratagem
Kicking off again at 6.20-7.05pm on BBC ONE this Saturday, the Sontarans activate their masterplan and begin to choke the whole of planet Earth, as Russell T Davies’s Bafta Award-winning time-travelling drama continues. UNIT is left defenceless, with a traitor in their ranks. And as interplanetary war edges closer, the Doctor has to fight to keep both Martha and Donna alive – but will he have to make the ultimate sacrifice?
Starring David Tennant as the Doctor with Catherine Tate as Donna Noble, Freema Agyeman as Martha Jones and Christopher Ryan as Major Staal, it would be good to know that The Poison Sky tightens things up a bit. But of course I haven’t seen it yet, so I can’t comment.
Newsround’s Lizo, however, has seen it. What does he say?
The Doctor’s got big problems too, in this episode. Not only is he trying to stop the war-like Sontarans, but he’s also doing his best to hold UNIT back from launching what could be a disastrous attack on the aliens.
This story’s anti-war message works well, with the Doctor leading by example as he demonstrates that violence should only ever be used when there’s absolutely no alternative.
Some two-part stories promise much in the first-half, but fail to deliver in the second. But the concluding part of this adventure is one that doesn’t disappoint
He gave it a four, too…
