Gethin’s Back in Who

Departing Blue Peter presenter Gethin Jones – who previously played a Cyberman in 2006’s Rise of the Cybermen is returning to Doctor Who for season 30.

Naturally of course, he isn’t letting anything slip about this role this time around.

“One of my last Blue Peter jobs will be appearing in one of the last episodes of the new Doctor Who series,” said Jones, a former pupil of the capital’s Welsh-medium schools Ysgol Gynradd Coed y Gof in Pentrebane and Ysgol Gyfun Gymraeg Glantaf.

“It was a great day of filming. I’m sure it’s a dream of many children to join Doctor Who. I love the show and I think Russell T Davies (the writer) is a legend.”

Jimmy Page is a legend, son. Tom Baker, too. Hercules, if you want to be strict. For goodness sake learn English, RTD is not a legend. He’s quite real and he is over-rated.

I’m digressing again.

Apparently young Gethin has received some offers following his appearance in Doctor Who and his recent announcement.

“There’s been interest from musical theatre but I’ve been presenting now for more than six years – presenting is what I like doing,” he said.

RTD praise and musical theatre? Hmm, I think Gethin might have something he wants to share…
